Amal Clooney

Amal Clooney is an American-Lebanese barrister, human rights activist and philanthropist. She was born Amal Ramzi Al-Amuddin. She graduated from Oxford University and New York University School of Law her extensive and impressive professional career in the field of human rights and international law have won her international acclaim. Her high-profile clients have included numerous nation states, including the state of Armenia fighting for recognition of the Armenian Genocide by the Turkish government. Amal Clooney became engaged in 2014, and then married American actor George Clooney. She instantly became a household word. In the years prior to her marriage, she was admired and well-known in legal circles because of her success in defending clients. In the past, she has dealt with human and social rights concerns and representing multinational corporations in their court actions as well as negotiations regarding government regulations. Since 2015 she worked as a barrister in British Court within Doughty Street Chambers.
